left is right and right is wrong

People interested in politics will surely understand what i meant by the above statement. yes, i am writing something on the 123 deal with united states

first, let me mention about some significant events and then continue my explaination

1962- sino-india war, few left parties supported the aggression which results in the split of the communist party

1974- first nuclear test under the leadership of indira gandhi, left parties oppose it

1995- PVN decided to carry furthur nuclear tests, but was forced to stop due to US pressure

1998- under the able leadership of ABV india conducts tests at pokhran, US officals are taken by surprise, left parties oppose the test

july 2007- left parties oppose APJ being given a second term because of his nuclear stand

2006-07- US promises of nuclear cooperation right wing parties oppose the deal fearing that it may affect india'a military expansion and that there may be restrictions on india testing nuclear weapons

when the full text of the nuclear deal was released there was no mention of nuclear testing, its a very ambiguous situation but congress says that as there is no mention we can go a head with our nuclear program but oppostion parties are not satisfied and they continue to oppose it.one wonders why left is opposing it, why is left thinking about india's nuclear weapon program while it was completely opposed to it in the past, they opposed APJ for his nuclear mindset which they are against and only in few days they have taken a u-turn.

It was the right wing parties which always wanted india to become a nuclear state, and they wanted india to conduct nuclear tests but now even the left want the same and they want india to have an independent nuclear weapon program, and the bjp(read it as right) is the one which started this whole thing with the US when it was in power and now it is opposing the same

So i feel that in this present scenario the left wing is behaving as if it is the right wing and it is wrong on the part of right wing to oppose the deal so i say

“left is right and right is wrong” in simple words the deal is good and its wrong to oppose the deal.

I liked the title of your blog entry very much :-)

You are absolutely right. The Leftists absolutely have no locus-standi on the nuclear deal issue. They are suffering from this eternal anti-American dogma and they simply can't get over this. The opposed both the nuclear tests tooth and nail and now they claim the nuclear deal will compromise on India's security, sovereignty and foreign policy independence.

The BJP's compulsion is quite understandable. Having done most of the ground work for this deal during their tenure they are afraid that most of the credit for inking this deal will be seized by the incumbent UPA government.

Subjected to your interest and time please visit my blog entries especially one on the nuclear deal
